1. Data Subject Rights Overview
This document outlines how Lawa, including its affiliates (“Lawa”, “our”, “us”, or “we”), handles your information in accordance with our Terms of Use. By accessing our website (the “Website”), using our mobile application (“the App”), or engaging with any related services (collectively termed “the Service”), you consent to this Confidentiality Notice. If any terms are unacceptable, refrain from using the Service.
Upon visiting the Website or App, we may gather data as specified below. During registration and account usage, further data collection occurs to deliver the Service, with the specifics dependent on your interactions.
2. Legal Grounds for Processing
Data processing occurs under multiple lawful bases. We rely on one or more of the following to process your information:
• Contractual necessity to fulfil our agreement with you (Terms of Use)
• Legitimate interests, such as fraud prevention, security, or internal operations, unless overridden by your rights
• Your explicit consent for specific purposes, such as Service provision
• Legal compliance obligations
• Public interest or vital interests protection
3. Information Collection Practices
When you interact with the Website, App, or register an account, we collect personally identifiable information to deliver the Service. The following categories detail what we gather:
3.1 Registration and Account Details
Installing the App and/or registering for an account may require sharing mandatory and optional details:
• Mandatory: gender, name or alias, date of birth, mobile number or email address to enable connection features
• Optional: photos, videos, self-descriptions, or interests. Optional inputs are voluntary.
Social logins (Facebook, Apple, Google) may grant access to additional data, such as profile information, if consented. This data facilitates cross-device synchronization and Service enhancement.
Contact details may be used for marketing (where permitted by law), notifications about updates, or helping others locate your account, subject to your settings. Email and mobile preferences allow you to manage notifications.
3.2 Location Data
‘Location Data’—derived from GPS, Wi-Fi, or IP address—may be shared with us or other users. Essential for Service functionality, security, and personalized connections, this data ensures accurate account setup and anticipated matches.
3.3 Log Data
‘Log Data’ includes technical details collected during interactions with our services, such as:
• IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
• Pages visited, referring pages, search terms, cookie information
• Communication metadata (recipients, dates, durations) excluding message content unless required for safety
We use Log Data to maintain Service integrity, enhance performance, and improve marketing effectiveness. Metadata (e.g., connection dates/locations) is also utilized. Log Data is retained for no longer than 30 days.
3.4 Third-Party and Affiliate Data
Information may be received from partners, affiliates, or linked services to evaluate content safety, quality, or facilitate payments. Payment details (e.g., credit card numbers) are processed securely via third-party vendors.
3.5 Identity Inference
Logging into the App associates your device/browser with your account for authentication, security, and personalization. Email addresses may be used to infer additional identity data to enhance Service tailoring.
3.6 App Usage Data
Device specifics (model, unique ID, IP address) and user activity (matches, messaging, media sharing) are collected. Photo, camera, and microphone access enable profile picture uploads, media sharing, and compliance checks (e.g., age verification).
Shared content (profiles, messages, media) is stored on our servers. Once shared, control over its use may be limited. Lawa is not liable for misuse by other users.
Payment transactions are processed securely via third parties, with purchase details (merchant, amount, time) stored for behavioral analysis.
Error reports (device type, ID, crash details) are collected solely to improve App stability and do not typically include personally identifiable information.
3.7 Website Tracking
Online tracking technologies (cookies, pixel tags) collect data on your visits, location, and device specifics to enhance security, analytics, and Service development. You may disable these in browser settings.
3.8 Age Verification
The Service targets users aged 18+. Age data is collected to prevent underage access, with third-party assistance. Inadvertently collected data from underage users is promptly deleted. Users under 18 must not use the Service.
4. Profile Management
You control your public profile (“Profile”) at all times, including name, photos, videos, interests, and bio. Profile visibility is determined by your settings and may be discoverable by nearby users. Blocking features prevent unwanted visibility.
Certain details (e.g., name, Facebook profile picture) may auto-populate if using social logins. Profiles can be edited or deleted via the App or Safety Centre.
5. Purpose and Use of Personal Information
We adhere to data minimization, processing your information solely for intended purposes, including:
• Service provision (matching, messaging, video calls, media sharing)
• Account administration (updates, alerts, profile management)
• Networking opportunities and location-based recommendations
• Service improvement via analytics, surveys, and testing
• Payment processing and marketing communications
• Safety and integrity enforcement (fraud detection, compliance)
• Legal obligations (audits, regulatory compliance, corporate transactions)
• Cross-service integration to enhance user experience
6. Shared Information and Third Parties
We share information with affiliates, vendors, and service providers to support our business, including:
• Publicly visible profile data (ID, name, photos, interests)
• User-generated content shared with others
• Lawa Group entities (parent, subsidiaries, branches) for integrated Services
• Contractors (IT support, analytics, payment processors)
• Regulatory bodies, law enforcement, or legal advisors as required
7. Public Sharing of User Content
Voluntarily shared content (e.g., messages, photos) becomes publicly accessible. Once shared, control may be limited as others can copy or archive it. Lawa is not responsible for misuse of such content.
8. Direct Marketing Preferences
With consent, we may use your data to send marketing communications (e.g., premium offers, updates). You may opt out at any time via App settings or notification preferences.
9. Data Access and Deletion
You control shared data via App settings or device removal. Account deletion requests are processed commercially reasonably, though some data may persist to fulfil legal obligations. Deletion may limit Service access.
10. Third-Party Links
Third-party websites/apps accessed via our Service are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their data practices.
11. Security Measures
Lawa prioritizes data security through encryption, access restrictions, and system monitoring. Data may be processed internationally, with safeguards in place per applicable law. Pseudonymized/aggregated data is used for analytics and fraud detection.
12. Data Retention
Personal data is retained only as necessary to fulfil stated purposes, then irreversibly anonymized or deleted. Legal requirements may extend retention periods.
13. Your Data Protection Rights
You hold the following rights regarding your data:
• Access: Request confirmation of processing and copies of your data
• Withdraw Consent: Revoke consent for processing
• Rectification: Correct inaccurate details (e.g., age, gender)
• Erasure: Request deletion where applicable (subject to legal constraints)
• Restriction: Limit processing in specific circumstances
• Objection: Object to processing based on your situation
• Complaint: File grievances with our Data Protection Officer
14. Exercising Your Rights
Update or delete personal data via the App or by emailing support@lawalive.click.
15. Cookie Policy
Cookies and similar technologies (web beacons, pixel tags) enhance functionality, personalization, and analytics. You may disable cookies via browser settings, but this may limit Service features.
16. Amendments to This Notice
We may revise this Notice periodically. Material changes will be communicated via the Website, App pop-ups, or email. Continued use after revisions constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
